Dina Pruzhansky, composer-pianist in conversation with
Rachel Arky, mezzo-soprano and Nefer Alexandra Linde, soprano.
Musicians from across the world explore their artistic
dreams in New York City. In the heart of this cultural
melting pot, musicians give back to the city that has
captured their hearts. Joined by selected 18 New York
based musicians, pianist Jasna Popovic and the
Composers Concordance perform contemporary works
by composers dedicated to New York City.
This episode is hosted by Massiel Hernandez with Dina Pruzhansky presenting this show’s feature. Salon Radio is rounded out with our Women in The Arts world bulletin highlighting news about women in all The Arts, from this week’s editor Massiel Hernandez, and our Salon Bulletin highlighting Salonistas work around the world.

Rachel Arky, mezzo-soprano
Mezzo-soprano Rachel Arky is an emerging singing actress swiftly gaining attention for her dramatic and musical versatility. Recent engagements include: Milkmaid in Melissa Shiflett’s My Undying Love with the American Chamber Opera Company; the title character in Carmen with Amore Opera; Meg March in Little Women with Annapolis Opera; Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore with City Lyric Opera; and Maddalena in Rigoletto for her Mississippi Opera debut.
Nefer Alexandra Linde, soprano
Alexandra is a swedish coloratura soprano who just finished her masters at Manhattan School of music
under the tutelage of Shirley Close and Ashley Putnam. Previous credits include The Magic Flute (Queen of the
night), Hansel und Gretel (Gretel), Alcina (Morgana), Orfeus ed Euridice (Euridice) with Stockholm Operastudio. Le Roi l'a dit (Javotte) with Manhattan School of Music. She has been performing as a soloist at Nordic Song Festival, Berwaldhallen, Nybrokajen 11, Riddarhuset, Stockholms slott and Confidencen. Other venues include Lincoln Center, the Met Museum, NJPAC and St John the Divine. Besides the standard repertoire she has also premiered a lot of newly written music with a chamber ensemble at Opera på Skäret. She is a recipient of the Sweden-America Foundation
scholarship, the SWEA NY scholarship the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's scholarship as well as Nacka Culture award and Gålöfondens award.
Dina Pruzhansky, composer-pianist
Dina Pruzhansky is a NYC based award-winning composer, pianist, and educator. Born in Azerbaijan and
Israeli-raised, she enjoys a diverse international career in a variety of genres, ranging from classical concert
music to musical theater and from liturgy to cabaret. Her work has been featured at many of New York's
renowned music venues, such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, The Bargemusic, Le Poisson
Rouge, Symphony Space, YIVO, Opera America Center, as well as featured on the WQXR and many
international stages and broadcasts.

PORT OF ENTRY: New York Immigrant musicians from across the world exploring their artistic dreams find their welcome in New York City. In this great cultural melting pot, musicians are giving back to the city that has captured their hearts in a concert double feature.
The first half of the concert features internationally acclaimed pianist Jasna Popovic in collaboration with Composers Concordance, a presenting organization for contemporary music with 35 years history of producing concerts in NYC. They will perform contemporary works from a global array of composers who have dedicated their art to NYC.
The evening concludes with renowned guitarist Nemanja Bogunovic, and his chamber ensemble, presenting his latest album “Bogunovic plays Bogunovic”. Mr. Bogunovic’s compositions will bring the audience on emotional journey evoking a sense of cinema, reflecting the scent of the Mediterranean, pulses of Latin America, a touch of Asia, and elements of Serbian folklore.

Composers Concordance, Bill Gould (Faith No More)
Musicians from across the world, who all now call New York City home,
explore their artistic heritage in a double feature concert at Port of
Entry: New York at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, March 3 with New York
Artist Management (NYAM) and Composers Concordance. The goal of
the event is to give back artistically to this great cultural melting pot that
has captured their hearts.
The first half of the concert features internationally acclaimed
pianist Jasna Popovic (Serbia), pianist Ruoting Li (China), mezzosoprano Rachel Arky (USA), composer/pianist Dina
Pruzhansky (Israel), soprano Nefer Alexandra Linde (Sweeden), tenor
Pavel Suliandziga (Russia), and the CompCord String Quintet
premiering contemporary works from a global array of composers
including Luigi Porto (Italy), Dina Pruzhansky (Israel), Gene
Pritsker (USA), and Mark Kostabi (Estonia).
